Programme Overview - Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand (2027)

Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand is a complete, curriculum-aligned teaching and learning programme for Years 0–8 – designed to save teachers time, deepen student understanding, and give every student the opportunity to succeed.

The programme has been designed and written by experienced teachers from across New Zealand and is designed so every student can access learning at their curriculum level – whether that means accelerating students who need additional support or providing enrichment and mastery for those working confidently at level.

The programme brings together three interconnected components; Student Workbooks, Student Dashboards, and a Teacher Dashboard. These components form a cohesive teaching and learning system grounded in evidence-based practice, explicit teaching, and the Science of Learning.

Teacher Dashboard

A complete and comprehensive digital teaching hub with:

• whole-year teaching and learning sequences

How it all works

Our programme follows a consistent structure and sequence that aligns directly with the New Zealand Curriculum. The structure of all components reflects the structure of the New Zealand Curriculum.

• There are five or six Strands at each year level (depending on the requirements in the New Zealand Curriculum).
• Each strand is broken down into Elements.
• Each Element is covered progressively over one or more Topics.
• Most Topics are taught over the course of one teaching week (i.e. 5 x one-hour lessons).
