You can access your obook offline using a supported operating system and browser. To access the best obook offline experience, you’ll need to use one of the following:
- Windows OS: Chrome v106+ or Edge v106+
- MacOS: Chrome v106+ or Edge v106+
- iPad: Safari v15.6+
Limited support is provided to:
- Windows OS: Firefox v106+. You can only access obook offline through the browser. Firefox doesn’t support app download.
- MacOS: Safari 15.6+ or Firefox v106+
- iPadOS: Chrome v106+ or Edge 106+
When you first open obook offline in your browser, you will see a splash screen stating your browser version and operating system, followed by the recommended browser for the best obook offline experience. Please follow the advice given.
If you already have a recommended browser installed, you will be guided to install the obook offline app to your device (if the app is supported for your browser).
Splash screen example: This splash screen indicates that Your environment:Firefox 87.0, Windows is not supported, recommending you use either Chrome v106+ or Edge v106+ to access obook offline.
How to bookmark offline.oxforddigital.com.au to access offline
If you wish to access obook offline using a recommended browser version, you can bookmark the urlhttps://offline.oxforddigital.com.auto allow you access to your downloaded content offline. Click on the bookmark to the right of the url address bar:
If your browser allows, you can also download the obook offline application to your device to access obook offline.
How to install obook offline application to your device WINDOWS:
Example: supported environment – Windows: Chrome v106+
You can install the obook offline application onto your device by following the steps below.
- Click the Install app icon at the end of the url address bar:
- Select Install to install the application:
The application will open. In your obook offline library, click on your book to select the content you want to take offline:
You can click on the application icon on your desktop to open obook offline application at any time:
How to install obook offline application to your device MacOS:
Example: supported environment – MacOS desktop Apple: Chrome v106+ or Edge v106+
- Click the Install app icon at the end of address bar:

The application will open. In your obook offline library, click on your book to select the content you want to take offline.
Example: supported environment iPadOS: Safari 15.6+
If you’re using iPadOS, follow the steps below to install the obook offline application and guarantee access to your content offline.
- Use the Share icon on the top right and scroll down to select Add to home screen.

3. Open the obook offline from the home screen, and log into Oxford Digital.
Once logged in, click on your book to select the content you want to take offline.
Accessing obook offline on a shared device
If you are sharing a device in the classroom, please be aware that you may need to log out of the previous user’s session before logging back into your own session. If you open the obook offline application or go to the offline url in your browser and see that the device is logged in as another user, please log out and log back in again (while you are online):
Expired obook
When you log back in you may see that you do not have access to the previous user’s obooks in your obook offline library. You can remove the obook from your offline library by clicking on the Remove product button:
Content Access Duration
Your downloaded obook offline content will be available to access for a term (90 days). Upon expiry, and if you still have an active licence for the obook, you will need to download your content again to access it for a further 90 days.
