Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand Years 0-8
Introduction
While the Reports dashboard in Oxford Digital offers a range of ways to assess the progression of your students throughout the year, you may find you need their result data collated in a workable CSV (spreadsheet). This can be opened in Excel or your preferred spreadsheet program.
Additionally, if you have created custom tests to record student results from external assessments or activities, these will also be included in the export.
How to read the data
'Download CSV' will generate a CSV spreadsheet that looks similar to the following, noting that this example has hidden empty columns reserved for incomplete tests for the sake of brevity.
Student names will be listed in column A. Test names corresponding to unit and topic will appear in row 1. To show the full name of the test, expand the column.
Pre-test results will be given a letter grade of either A (Above level), O (On level), or B (Below level). This is shown above in orange.
Post-test results will be given a percentage score, as shown above in purple.
Custom test results entered manually will appear in the columns following all pre and post tests and are shown above in blue. These results will be represented according to whatever grading scheme (percentage, letter-grade, numeric or free text) is chosen when creating the custom test.
Important:
- The highest level at which student result data can be exported is class-level.
- School-level export is not an available function at this stage of development.
- A Grading Guide is available with your Oxford Digital teacher subscription to assist you in transposing marks between our marking system and your school's default marking system; search for 'grading guide' in the Resources library.
Instructions
Begin by opening Reports from your selected year level of Mathematics and Statistics for Aotearoa New Zealand Years 0-8 (e.g. Year 1).
When you first open the dashboard, you will need to select a class to begin. Go to the dropdown menu and click on the class you want to view.
The dashboard will then update and present an overview of student results organised into units.
From here, you have several options for exporting to CSV.
Class view
Without making any changes to the filters available, you can export all student pre and post-test results by clicking 'Download CSV'.
This will generate a CSV file that looks similar to the example in the How to read section of this article, with all students listed.
Group view
If you would like to filter to show the results belonging to students in a specific group (as created in the classroom management system), ensure you have the correct class selected, then click the second dropdown menu from the right and select the group for which you would like to view results.
Click 'Download CSV'.
This will generate a CSV file that looks similar to the example in the How to read section of this article, with only students in the selected group listed.
Single-student view
If you would like to filter to show the results belonging one student only, ensure you have the correct class selected, then click the third dropdown menu from the right and select the student for which you would like to view results.
Note: if you have a group selected, you will only be able to select from students in that group. Set the filter to 'All groups' or reset all filters to bring up the full student list.
Click 'Download CSV'.
This will generate a CSV file that looks similar to the example in the How to read section of this article, with only the results of the selected student listed.
